Welcome to the Christian Parent Educators Consortium [CPEC] and God bless your efforts in seeking to home educate for your child.  CPEC exists to minister to families in Western Pennsylvania and to support the education of children in the home.  If you need  to immediately begin a home education program for your child, refer to the the How To Get Started section of the CPEC website. 

Every parent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has the right to educate their children at home.¹  The applicable section of the Pennsylvania School Code does not require that a school district 'approve' or 'review' a home education program prior to the removal of the student from the public school.   If you need to remove your child immediately from the public school due to issues of safety/health/other emergency circumstances, then by all means do so.  The Home Education affidavit must be submitted immediately after withdrawal from public school or the family/student is subject to truancy charges filed by the school district.

The Christian Parent Educators Consortium, Inc. is a non-profit organization that exists to disseminate accurate, factual and up-to-date information on home education and to minister to, equip, support and encourage parents to establish a home education program.  The Christian Educators Consortium (CPEC) is Bible-based and distinctly Christian in mission.  This mission includes providing information and assistance to home educators of all faiths in the spirit of unity and truth.

Evaluation, Consultation, Testing, Assessment, Advocacy, Expert Witness, and Speakers Bureau Services
Home Education Program evaluations (as described in the Pennsylvania Home Education Law) can be arranged through CPEC at a very reasonable cost.  Such evaluations are provided at no cost to members of McKeesport Area Homeschoolers and/or members of the McKeesport Area Homeschoolers Enrichment Classes. In-depth, detailed  consultations with expert, experienced home education parents, certified teachers, special education teachers and curriculum specialists are also available with fees charged on an hourly basis.  Nationally-normed, achievement testing that meets the requirement of the Pennsylvania Home Education Law can be administered during any time of the year at very reasonable cost.  Assessments with documentation can be performed to assist parents who want to return their children to a more traditional school setting. Assessments can be provided to help  remove the 'label' that has been given to a student by the school district. CPEC expert witnesses can be present on behalf of home educated students in IEP meetings, truancy hearings and in family court settings to support the home educating parent or guardian.  Our expert witnesses have had experience with the courts and school districts.
