The McKeesport Area Homeschoolers Enrichment Classes (MAHEC)
consist of a co-operative group of homeschooling and cyberschooling
parents who combine their expertise in specific subject areas to provide
group instruction to children ages newborn to eighteen. One of the
area's oldest Homeschooling Co-operatives, the MAHEC have had former
students go on and become very successful in the medical and professional
fields, culinary science and art. The teaching parents are committed
to providing a surprisingly affordable opportunity for local home educated
children to participate in Boy Scouts, history (Pennsylvania and US), Fire
Safety and First Aid, Mathematics Labs, Advanced Placement Coursework,
Kindergarten, Preschool, Art, Spelling, French, American Sign Language,
Physical Education, Church and Youth Ministries Internships, 4H, Computer
Science, Private Piano/Voice, Recorder, Newscasting, Christian
Drama/Dance, Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, Hands-On Science. Our
next semester begins February 17, 2003 and all are welcome to participate
in the classes part-time or full-time and are conducted at the First
Evangelical Free Church of McKeesport, 4001 University Drive, McKeesport,
PA.
